Welcome to the Data Coordination Center for the U.S. Antarctic Program
The goals of the USAP-DCC are to help scientists find Antarctic scientific data of interest and to help them submit data for long term preservation in accordance with their obligations under the NSF Office of Polar Programs (OPP) Data Policy.
RECENT NEWS
03/2009 - New Search interface available for searching for data sets within the Antarctic Master Directory
11/2008 - Posted new KMZ file for accessing R/V Palmer ship tracks in Google Earth. Ctrl-click (Win) or Cmd-click (Mac) on a track for cruise details.
11/2008 - Posted new KMZ file to explore AMD data sets (both U.S. and non-U.S.) in Google Earth.
10/2008 - Deployed new "short form" for registering data sets in the Antarctic Master Directory (AMD).
05/2008 - Added new WFS map layer for non-U.S. data sets.
03/2008 - Reorganized U.S. data sets per NSF OPP programs.
01/2008 - Added Landsat Image Mosaic of Antarctica (LIMA) basemap - service provided by Antarctic Geospatial Information Center (AGIC).
12/2007 - Launched new web site at Fall AGU meeting.
Use the map to find existing data sets. The upper-left buttons control pan and zoom, and the upper-right "+" button selects basemaps and overlays. Click on a red marker to pop up a list of the data set(s) at that location, with links to metadata.
Note: Map uses OpenLayers with WMS/WFS data sources.
